Programming Instructions:
You can’t program the 2001 Pontiac Bonneville yourself – you will have to take the car to an Pontiac Dealer or an automotive locksmith in order to have it programmed. I recommend trying an automotive locksmith first as they can be faster and less expensive.
NOTE: you will need to take the CAR and ALL THE REMOTES with you as the locksmith will have to hook up a computer right to your car and then reprogram all the remotes at once.

I tried what you said to do on my 2001 Pontiac bonneville SE and it doesn’t work

Hi Kiera, sorry about that, some of the instructions repeat as the different car manufacturers often don’t change the pattern. In some cases, though, they have different rules for different models. Unfortunately, in your case, I did some checking after your note and unfortunately, it turns out that with your make/model/year, you can’t program the remotes yourself and you will have to take your vehicle to an auto locksmith or a dealer to have it programmed. Try the auto locksmith, it may be faster and less expensive.
Again, sorry for the confusion – good luck.
PS – I updated the instructions accordingly.
