Learn to program the remote to your 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix without any help from the dealer. This includes the Grand Prix GT model.
Programming Instructions: Note: This is the same for many GM vehicles.
Sit in the driver’s seat. Take the key out. Open the interior fuse box panel. Inspect the fuses to find “Mall Pgm.” Pull the fuse out. Close the door and sit inside. Turn the ignition key to “Acc.” Turn it off. Turn it back to “Acc.” Open the driver’s door. Close the driver’s door. You’ll hear a beep. Push and hold “Lock” and “Unlock” together for 17 seconds to program the remote.
UPDATE: I’ve been told by several readers that these instructions do not work, because the 2004 Grand Prix is missing the “Mall PGM” fuse. I apologize for the confusion. As soon as I can find the correct procedure, I will make the modifications to the instructions.
