LAST YEAR I PURCHASED A SECOND REMOTE AND I PROGRAM IT MYSELF> I MISS PLACED THAT REMOTE AND KEY SO I PURCHASED ANOTHER ONE PLUS I NEED A SECOND KEY I PAID FOR IT IN ADVANCE THEY HAD TO ORDER IT. WHEN I WENT TO PICK IT UP I WAS CHARGED $25 FOR PROGRAMING PLUS $12 FOR THE KEY. I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD TO GO THRU THE CAR COMPUTER FOR PROGRAMING. IS THIS TRUE. AND IF SO WHY DID I PROGRAM MY LAST KEY BY JUST FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS.DO YOU NEED TO PROGRAM THRU THE CARS COMPUTTER?
The Remote Guy says
HI Anne Marie, the 2002 Isuzu Rodeo can definitely be programmed yourself. You don’t need to program it through the computer. Sorry to hear you got charged for it.

I THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SPEEDY REPLY TO MY QUESTION. I HAD JUST SPENT 0VER $2300 FOR SERVICE AT THAT DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK PLUS $40 TO RENT A CAR AND WHEN I WENT TO GET MY REMOTE AND WAS BILLED ANOTHER $39.37. I AM SO ANGER BECAUSE I KNOW HOW EASY AND FAST IT IS T0 PROGRAM BECAUSE I DID THE LAST ONE I PURCHASED. AND WHEN I QUESTIONED THE BILL I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD TO PROGRAM IT THROUGH THE COMPUTER.SO THEY MADE ME WAIT OVER AN HOUR AS IF THEY WORKED ON IT THAT LONG. AND THAT DESERVES $25 LABOR. WELL THEY LOST ANOTHER CUSTOMER. AND I AM GOING TO LET THEM KNOW WHEN I HAVE TO GO BACK BECAUSE NOW MY CAR IS LEAKING OIL.I JUST CAN’T FIND A HONEST MACHENIC. WELL I THANK YOU AGAIN AND CAN I GIVE YOU SOMETHING FOR YOU TIME AND FOR YOU KNOWLEDGE. THANK YOU AGAIN

HI Anne Marie, Good luck with the shop, I hope they do well by you – I know a dealer hates to lose a good customer, so hopefully they will correct things for you. Nothing required here but a kind word – more than happy to help wherever we can.
Cheers!

Hi again . I just released that this is the third e-mail to your web site . I was so surprised to see my question from Aug. 5 2012 and it was about the same thing. well I disconnected my car battery to clean the post when connected again I could lock the car with the key but no alarm sounded. I tired your instructions but I think I missed something. when I first open the door before I put the key in . do I close the door or leave it open? and is it closed are opened before I do the remote and when I lock and then unlock the remote do need to be out side of the car.

Hi , well it’s me again .but this time it’s not about the key less remote and I’m not sure if you can help me with my new problem. I’m having a problem with my anti-freeze leaking out as soon as I start my car .I followed all the advise to locate the leak . I believe it’s the bottom hose but I’m not sure if I need the drain my radiator first . or can I just remove the clamps and the hose. and replace the bad hose. and I really hope that is it . well till my next do it yourself adventure. have a great day
