1999 Pontiac Grand Prix Remote Programming

Programming Instructions

Learn to program the remote to your 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix without any help from the dealer. This includes the Grand Prix GT model.

Programming Instructions: Note: This is the same for many GM vehicles.

Sit in the driver’s seat. Take the key out. Open the interior fuse box panel. Inspect the fuses to find “Mall Pgm.” Pull the fuse out. Close the door and sit inside. Turn the ignition key to “Acc.” Turn it off. Turn it back to “Acc.” Open the driver’s door. Close the driver’s door. You’ll hear a beep. Push and hold “Lock” and “Unlock” together for 17 seconds to program the remote.

💡 Tip: If it doesn't work, try again — timing can be tricky!
