Learn to program the remote to your 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix without any help from the dealer.
Programming Instructions: Note: This is the same for many GM vehicles.
Sit in the driver’s seat. Take the key out. Open the interior fuse box panel. Inspect the fuses to find “Mall Pgm.” Pull the fuse out. Close the door and sit inside. Turn the ignition key to “Acc.” Turn it off. Turn it back to “Acc.” Open the driver’s door. Close the driver’s door. You’ll hear a beep. Push and hold “Lock” and “Unlock” together for 17 seconds to program the remote.
UPDATE: I’ve been told by several readers that these instructions do not work, because the Grand Prix is missing the “Mall PGM” fuse. I apologize for the confusion. As soon as I can find the correct procedure, I will make the modifications to the instructions.

Did not work for me. There is no Mall Pgm fuse in my 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. There is the RFA/MOD fuse which is for the Remote Keyless Entry, I tried this process by removing that fuse instead with no results. Do you have any suggestions Remote Guy? I’d LOVE to not have to have this done at a dealership if it can be avoided!
The Remote Guy says
Hey Clayton. I’m investigating this for you. I’ll find out more tomorrow.

Hey guys. It looks like these instructions do not work. I’ve added a note and will make modifications to the instructions when I find out the correct procedure. This seems to affect 2004 to 2008 model Grand Prixs.
