2010 Ford Focus Remote Programming

Programming Instructions: Note: The programming procedure is identical for many Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles, as well as for the Mazda Tribute and Mazda B-Series truck.

Sit in the car’s driver’s seat. Put the key in the ignition. Turn the key from OFF to RUN at least 8 times within a 10 second window. NOTE: You must do this very quickly for it to work. If successful, you’ll hear the doors lock and unlock. This lets you know the system is ready to accept the remote. Push any button on the remote. The door locks will lock and unlock. The remote is programmed.

I tried this and it worked, However it disabled my other remote. I took the original remote into the house tried this again and it worked but again disabled my original. So how do I get the original remote to work as it originally did, thanks Steve Zimmett

Hello Stephen. I apologize for the confusion. Push any button on the previously programmed remote immediately after programming the new one. This will resync it with the system. Essentially, you’ll need to repeat the process. Take care!

One of my remotes for 2010 Ford Focus suddenly died last week. Got a new battery for it, and it still wouldn’t work. I performed the procedure above (both remotes in hand), and it worked perfectly.

    Thanks,

    Hi Stephen,

I have just bought a new Fiesta without keyless entry. Can I just buy the appropriate remote and program as you say, or do I have to pay a Ford dealership to activate something for me?

    Thanks!

    Colin

    Hi Colin,
Not sure your exact situation, but keyless entry is part of the ‘convenience’ option package for the 2012 Fiesta and remotes would have come with the car.If you didn’t order the ‘convenience’ option package then it just plain old doesn’t come with keyless entry (I think 🙂 I would call the dealer and ask them. If it DOES have keyless entry, and just no fobs, then this process should work.

    Cheers!

Hi, hope you can help me out. I have the original control and a new one, but haven’t been able to program the new control. Tried it several times and still doesn’t work. Is there anything else I need to do or any other way? Please help thank you.
