To program the key fob for the 2005 Pontiac G6 including the GT and GXP models, the vehicle needs to be taken to an automotive locksmith with the right equipment or to a GM Dealer – it isn’t possible to program this make/model year on your own.
NOTE: I think the going rate these days is $30- $50 and you will need to take the CAR and ALL THE REMOTES with you as the GM dealer or locksmith will have to hook up a computer right to your car and then reprogram all the remote key fobs at once.

I can’t find that black wire in my trunk? Any suggestions

Hi James, I did some digging and unfortunately the ’05 G6 can’t be programmed by yourself. Manufacturers mostly re-use the programming instructions from year to year and in many cases from model to model, but occasionally they do change them and that is the case with the G6 – I have updated the instructions accordingly. You will have to take your vehicle and key fobs to an auto locksmith or the dealer (I think GM Dealers are only charging $30 – $50 to program keys now.
