Learn to program the remote to your 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix without any help from the dealer. This includes the Grand Prix GT model.

Programming Instructions: Note: This is the same for many GM vehicles.

Sit in the driver’s seat. Take the key out. Open the interior fuse box panel. Inspect the fuses to find “Mall Pgm.” Pull the fuse out. Close the door and sit inside. Turn the ignition key to “Acc.” Turn it off. Turn it back to “Acc.” Open the driver’s door. Close the driver’s door. You’ll hear a beep. Push and hold “Lock” and “Unlock” together for 17 seconds to program the remote.

Hi Kayon, it should be in the glove box where the other fuses are. I did a little digging and GM changed the Key Fob programming method sometime around the 2004 model – I don’t think it was earlier than that so you should be good – but so far I have been unable to confirm the exact model year that they changed things up. AFter the model year switch, the programming instructions no longer involve a MALL switch and instead you require a scan tool or your dealer to do the programming.
