Programming Instructions:
Note: This is the same for many GM vehicles.
Sit in the driver’s seat. Insert the key into the ignition but don’t turn it. Push and hold the “Lock” button on the door. Continue to hold it. Turn the key to on, off, and then back to on, rapidly. Release the “Lock” button. The doors will sound. The remote is ready to be programmed. Push and hold “Unlock” and “Lock” on the remote for 20 seconds. The remote is programmed to the vehicle.

Doesn’t work as this guy says.
The Remote Guy says
Hi Dennis, Try this slight variation and let me know if it works so I can update the instructions.
1. Sit in the driver’s seat.
2. Insert the key into the ignition but don’t turn it WHILE Pushing and holding the “door unlock” button on the REMOTE.
3.Turn the key to on, off, and then back to on, rapidly.
4. Release the “door unlock” button on the remote. The doors will sound. The remote is ready to be programmed.
NOTE: if the doors don’t sound at this point, try starting again and this ‘alternate’ step 3 – turn the key on and off then on and off again (an extra ‘off’)
5. Push and hold “Unlock” and “Lock” on the remote for 20 seconds. The remote is programmed to the vehicle.
Try these out, let me know which one if any works so I can update the instructions!
Cheers!

so when you say turn the key to on are you suggesting that the truck starts?
bob says
neither worked for my 2007 colorado
Mike807 says
According to many, the remote for the 2007 has to be done by a locksmith or a dealership.
Tom says
I could not get it to work by holding the door lock on the door, but when I tried holding the REMOTE door lock it worked. (instructions 1-4 above). This was on a 2006 Chevy Colorado.
