Programming Instructions:
Note: This is the same for many GM vehicles.
Sit in the car’s driver’s seat. Insert the key and turn it ON. Push the INFORMATION button on the information center until the display reads PRESS TO RELEARN KEYS. Push the CHECK button. Push and hold LOCK and UNLOCK on the remote. Wait about 15 seconds or so. You’ll hear the horn chirp. The remote is programmed. Repeat for the additional remotes you need to program; you can program up to 8.
Wesley Small says
The procedure you listed above does not work for the 2007 Chevy Malibu. There is no reference to “Relearn Keys” on the information center
Amy says
Mine doesn’t have that feature either. What did you do
Willie says
What did you end up doing?
William says
Like others, I have learned that there is no “Learn Keys” entry on the Information Center.
Bert says
Obviously they don’t know what they’re talking about. Thanks for wasting everyone’s time without answering the questions.
Feim says
I dont have the relearn keys button in my car. I have a 2007 Chevrolet malibu, so this process doesnt work. What else can i try.
David says
Well complete waste of time I see. Why don’t you just pull this site down?
Bob says
If your key fob operates any one function you may not have to program a new remote. Try this method. Split open your new and old remotes, swap the circuit board from the old to the new remote. Snap it closed, be amazed at the results.
Failures are caused by wear on the pad that contacts the circuit board.
