Programming Instructions:
To program the key fob for the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, you will have to take the vehicle to an automotive locksmith with the right equipment or to a real Jeep Dealer – it isn’t possible to program this make/model year on your own.
NOTE: you will need to take the CAR and ALL THE REMOTES with you as the Chevy dealer or locksmith will have to hook up a computer right to your car and then reprogram all the remote key fobs at once.

AWSOME!!! INCREDIBLE!!! I’ve been having remote key problems for the last year and I don’t know how many good batteries I’ve thrown away. I was manually opening the car door on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee for the last 5 months. Your programming instructions saved me from lots of inconvenience. Thank you! Thank you!

I just wanted to say thank you thank you!! The dealership wanted to charge me $60 just to do this. I just did it and cannot believe how simple it was! For how easy that was, $60 for what they wanted to charge is a RIP OFF!!! Thanks again 🙂

I tried this several time over and no luck. Does this really work???? I’ve read several sites saying that this had to programmed with scan tool at the dealer or a locksmith.

Hi Demetrius, thanks for checking things out. I did some double checking and this particular model year does indeed require a scan tool to program the Fob (i have updated accordingly). You can program the key yourself, but to program the key fob requires either a dealer or auto locksmith. My apologies, most manufacturers re-use the logic from year to year and even from brand to brand in their instructions and only seldom do they change the pattern.
